ART is a journey, not a destination.
Fine and Sterling Silver jewelry, mixed media artwork, and paintings from the imagination of Gayle Weatherson.
Designing unique, creative pieces of wearable art, it is hoped that you enjoy wearing them as much as the artist enjoyed making them.
Fine Silver (.999FS) is as pure as silver comes after extraction and refinement. Unlike Sterling (.925SS), which has a small percentage of copper added as an alloy to strengthen the metal, fine silver is not alloyed with any other metal, hence its purity.
Recycled from industry in a process that allows pure silver to be salvaged and refined, Metal Clay is a revolutionary material where powdered metal is mixed with organic binder and water. This allows it to be molded, textured, folded, rolled, shaped, stamped, draped, slumped, connected, and torn using traditional ceramic techniques, and then fired at high temperatures in a kiln until the individual silver particles fuse into solid metal. Thereafter, it is processed and worked as any other fine-metal is finished, using traditional metalsmithing tools and technology.
Because of its purity, fine silver may also be melted into casting grain and reused as many times as the art explorer desires.
Unless otherwise noted, all pendants, earrings, and charms are fashioned of fine silver.
On occasion, copper, brass, bronze and other non-ferrous metals are used. Gemstone beads may also be incorporated into the work. Findings and chains are sterling silver.
